Feng Shui is “the ancient Chinese system of aesthetics believed to use the laws of both Heaven (astronomy) and Earth (geography) to help one improve life by receiving positive qi,” according to wikipedia.
Leda were pleased to have our bollards incorporated into Brisbane China Town Mall through Hiroshi Uchida from URBIS Architects. Vehicular traffic had been using the mall as a thoroughfare causing a serious safety concerns to pedestrians. Brisbane City Council stipulated that the ground sleeve must not only look good but could not potentially become a tripping hazard for which Leda’s SHCP80 is a good solution.
The stainless steel hinged sleeve with stainless cap was selected. This sleeve was used with Leda’s Commodore bollards painted in a striking “Red Pantone” colour. Feng Shui was achieved by having 5 bollards at the northern end of the mall and 3 bollards at the southern. No doubt combined with other works in the mall which is now a beautiful thoroughfare for the people of Brisbane.
Installation of the bollards was completed for the opening of the mall by Brisbane’s mayor Graham Quirk for the first tour of the city.
